Nvidia Snaps Up Hugging Face in $12.9B AI Software Play

Nvidia has made a significant move into artificial intelligence software with its acquisition of Hugging Face for $12.93 billion.

The deal sees Nvidia expanding its reach into the software used by developers to build and deploy AI, with over 18 million users accessing Hugging Face's open-source platform.

According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Hugging Face will remain an open platform for the entire AI ecosystem, allowing developers to choose their models, frameworks, cloud providers, and computing platforms without requiring Nvidia hardware.
