NYSE Teams with Securitize on Tokenized Stock Platform
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has partnered with Securitize to build a platform for tokenized stocks, allowing for 24/7 trading and instant settlement.
The Digital Trading Platform will be powered by blockchain-native shares of stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), managed by Securitize as the exchange's first digital transfer agent.
This move follows the NYSE's plans to create a tokenized securities venue, which was first outlined in January. The platform will use stablecoin-based funding and on-chain settlement.
Lynn Martin, NYSE Group president, emphasized that new infrastructure must preserve trust and protections for investors. Carlos Domingo, Securitize CEO, stated, 'This is about building tokenization in a way that works within real market structure, with the protections, controls, and operational integrity.'
