O Coin Aims to Revolutionize Global Transactions with Water-Based Value Tied Reference Rate
O Coin is a digital currency designed to be used in everyday transactions across countries. Its value is tied to the local price of one liter of potable water, measured and published by the blockchain. This reference rate allows users to exchange O Coins at a stable rate, but they are free to do so at any other rate if they choose.
The protocol creates value for participants who continue to respect the stable rates, while those who move away from the reference rate enrich themselves through relative dilution of the remaining aligned currencies. This 'stabilization principle' is an incentive, not a requirement.
However, O Coin faces significant technical challenges in achieving its goal of being a global transactional currency. The current code is still a prototype and requires completion and testing across independent nodes before it can be considered reliable.
