Oklo Gets Green Light for Groves Reactor Startup
The US Department of Energy has given Oklo (OKLO) the green light to start operations at its Groves Isotope Test Reactor, a low-power testing facility that will advance US isotope manufacturing for medical and research applications.
The authorization enables Oklo to proceed with loading nuclear fuel, conducting startup protocols, and launching operations at the reactor. This clearance represents the final federal requirement needed to activate the installation.
Oklo utilized private capital to fund construction and built the reactor on privately held property. The company created its operational frameworks from scratch, encompassing quality verification, security measures, environmental stewardship, personnel safety, and operating protocols.
