OKX Integrates Circle's USDC Stablecoin on X Layer Blockchain
OKX's X Layer blockchain has launched native support for Circle's USDC stablecoin and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP). This integration brings regulated stablecoin infrastructure to X Layer, potentially boosting adoption for payments, DeFi protocols, and cross-chain transactions.
The move introduces dollar-denominated payments, lending, and borrowing on X Layer, and enables institutional-grade on/offramps via Circle Mint. According to Circle, the addition of USDC and CCTP aims to reduce fragmentation across blockchains by facilitating seamless cross-chain liquidity and settlement.
X Layer will transition liquidity from the bridged version of USDC (USDC_Bridged) to native USDC over time, allowing users access to Circle-issued USDC fully backed by dollar reserves and redeemable 1:1 for USD.
CCTP allows developers to move USDC efficiently between X Layer and other blockchains that support the protocol, enabling interoperability for multi-chain liquidity or cross-chain settlements. This is a key feature for projects requiring seamless asset transfers in DeFi and AI-native workflows.
