OKX Restricts Claude Access Amid Regional Compliance Concerns

Share

Crypto exchange OKX has restricted employees in Hong Kong and those traveling through China from using Anthropic's Claude, following a brief corporate account suspension earlier this month.

The exchange cited potential gaps between employee access to Claude and regional restrictions imposed by Anthropic. The company acknowledged that some employees may have used Claude in ways not fully compliant with the AI provider's geographic access policies.

OKX will now restrict Claude access where necessary, redirecting affected requests to other AI models. This move is expected to reshape AI vendor contracts for crypto firms worldwide and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance with regional licensing rules.
