OKX Thrives in Post-MiCA Europe, Eyes Crypto Adoption Surge
OKX Europe, a major cryptocurrency exchange, has successfully adapted to the new regulatory framework in Europe, known as MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets). In an interview with The Cryptonomist, OKX's representatives discussed the challenges and opportunities presented by MiCA. One of the biggest operational challenges was building a full regulated stack early, which included obtaining MiCA licenses for spot and custody, MIFID II licenses for derivatives, and Payment Institution licenses for payments.
Since launching its spot product, OKX has built a comprehensive regulated crypto product stack that meets almost every financial need in one app. This includes Earn (a yield-earning platform), liquid staking, OKX Pay and Card for everyday spending, and X-Perps (MiFID II-regulated derivatives) for eligible users.
The representatives emphasized that customers want a single regulated place to trade, get paid, and earn yield. To meet this demand, OKX is focusing on building a comprehensive platform that offers everything users need.
