OKX Warns High-Risk Deposits May Trigger AML Reviews

Share

OKX, a popular cryptocurrency exchange, has warned users that high-risk deposits may trigger enhanced anti-money laundering (AML) reviews. The review process can last up to 15 days or longer, during which time account functions and funds may be restricted.

The warning was issued by OKX CEO Star Xu after a user's transfer from a sports betting platform triggered the compliance review process. According to Xu, deposits from high-risk addresses can result in stricter checks, with the length of the review depending on the circumstances.

Xu emphasized that accounts confirmed to be connected to high-risk or illegal activity may have their services terminated entirely.
