Old Bitcoin Coins Start Moving on Blockchain Amid Low Legacy Activity

Bitcoin's older coins have started moving on the blockchain. According to Galaxy Research data, six dormant Bitcoin wallets that had been inactive for over a decade have become active again. These addresses transferred a total of 553.59 BTC ($77,898) between August 16 and 26.

The notable point here is one wallet that moved hadn't been active in over 15 years, suggesting some assets from Bitcoin's early days are now moving again. The six wallets sent their Bitcoins to addresses not linked to any known cryptocurrency exchanges, so it's unclear if these transfers were directly intended for sale.

One of the wallets transferred 40 BTC to Boerse Stuttgart Digital, a Germany-based cryptocurrency custody and transaction services provider. However, this doesn't necessarily mean the Bitcoins were sold; they may have been moved to a custody service or for another institutional purpose.
