Old Bitcoin Wallets Awaken, Adding Supply to Market

A long-dormant Bitcoin wallet that had been idle since January 31, 2014 has finally moved its entire balance for the first time in 12.5 years.

The wallet, which starts with 14vMEC, received its coins when Bitcoin traded under $1,000. On August 10, 2026, a single transaction in block 961845 at 07:03 UTC shifted the full balance to a new address.

The owner's gain is approximately $1.73 million based on an average purchase price near $803 per Bitcoin.

This kind of gain belongs to Bitcoin's early era, when trading was thin and the asset was experimental. Today, the entire market cap sits around $1.3 trillion, making those early days feel like a different world.
