OLY DAO Launches Mint Focused on Long-Term Holders
The OLY DAO project is launching its mint on August 28th with a design focused on rewarding long-term holders, rather than short-term gains. The Ethereum-based DeFi protocol aims to position itself away from the typical 'short-term playbook' in crypto token design.
Rembrandt, the pseudonymous founder of OLY DAO, has been active in crypto since 2013 and believes that most protocols are designed for timing, not time. He points out that many projects are created with a focus on hype cycles and fresh token emissions, rather than long-term sustainability.
OLY DAO's design combines seller-funded revenue, vault-based yield, and a Liquidity Defense mechanism that places protocol-owned capital below the market as visible buy-side liquidity. The project also rewards stakers in external assets and protocol revenue, rather than relying on fresh token emissions.
The mint will have three tiers of commitment, with longer commitments receiving cheaper mint prices, higher share weights, larger payout shares, and governance power. OLY DAO's branding reflects its focus on long-term holders, using a restrained visual identity and avoiding the typical countdown-driven launch style.
