Oman Cracks Down on Unlicensed Crypto Mining

Oman has cracked down on unlicensed cryptocurrency mining operations, warning companies and individuals against selling or supplying equipment to unauthorized operators.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in Oman detected cases where crypto mining equipment was being sold or supplied to individuals without the required licenses and permits.

Under a notice issued by the ministry, sellers are prohibited from completing transactions involving crypto mining equipment unless the buyer has secured all necessary licenses, permits, and approvals.

The suppliers must verify before completing any sale that the purchaser is legally eligible to undertake cryptocurrency mining activities in Oman.
