On-Chain Vaults Poised to Revolutionize Crypto's Relationship with Wall Street
On-chain vaults could become crypto's next major breakthrough in traditional finance, according to Grayscale. The firm believes that on-chain vaults can provide greater transparency, operational efficiency, and potentially improved liquidity.
The on-chain vault market remains relatively small, with around 3,008 vaults managed by 57 curators holding approximately $7.26 billion in total value locked (TVL) as of late July 2026. This figure is well below the traditional CLO market, which exceeds $1.5 trillion.
Grayscale notes that regulatory uncertainty remains one of the biggest hurdles for on-chain vaults, particularly around U.S. securities rules when investors depend on curators for active portfolio management.
