Ondo Finance Bolsters Regulatory Efforts with Allison Parent Hire
Ondo Finance has made a significant move in its regulatory efforts by appointing Allison Parent as its Chief Policy Officer. This appointment is seen as a major boost to the company's capabilities in dealing with regulatory affairs, particularly in the area of asset tokenization.
Parent brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having spent nine years as Executive Director at the Global Financial Markets Association (Gfma), where she represented leading financial institutions and helped shape policy on capital markets. She also has a background in government and central bank positions, as well as working for Barclays and the Bank of England.
Parent's expertise will be crucial in Ondo Finance's efforts to develop clear standards for tokenized securities, which is a key area of focus for regulators worldwide. The company's tokenized Treasury TVL has surpassed $1.4 billion, according to DeFiLlama, and Parent will work closely with investors, institutions, developers, and regulators to ensure the growth of this market.
The appointment comes as regulators are working on various initiatives, including the GENIUS Act for stablecoins at the federal level and the implementation of MiCA in Europe. The tokenized Treasury market has seen significant growth, with its capitalization reaching over $7 billion.
