Ondo Finance Brings Yield-Bearing USDY Stablecoin to BNB Chain

Ondo Finance has expanded its yield-bearing stablecoin, USDY, to BNB Chain. This move brings a tokenized version of U.S. Treasury bills and short-dated government bonds to one of the largest blockchain ecosystems by total value locked.

USDY is designed to offer holders a stable value of $1 while accruing yield from a diversified portfolio of U.S. Treasuries and bank deposits. Unlike algorithmic stablecoins that rely on complex mechanisms to maintain their peg, USDY is backed by real-world, income-generating assets.

The integration of USDY into BNB Chain could have several implications. For DeFi users, it offers a stable, yield-bearing asset that can be used in lending protocols, liquidity pools, and as collateral. This could bring additional liquidity to the network and attract more institutional interest.
