Ondo Network Launches with Private Execution Layer
Ondo Finance has launched its Ondo Network, an execution layer designed to facilitate high-speed and private transactions for real-world assets. According to CEO Ian De Bode, the network is 'the implementation of what we originally set out with the Ondo Chain,' marking a significant evolution in the company's vision.
The Ondo Network uses hardware enclaves for private execution, decentralized attestors for verifiability, and public blockchains for asset transfer settlement. De Bode explained that the architecture separates execution from verification and settlement, rather than running all three on one ledger. This design allows for faster and more secure transactions.
The first application built on the Ondo Network is Ondo Perps, a perpetual futures platform. The company plans to expand its capabilities to support spot markets, structured products, and lending markets in the future. Currently, asset transfers settle on Ethereum, with support for additional public blockchains planned.
