Ondo Urges Modern Rules for Perpetual Futures

Share

Ondo Finance has submitted three comment letters to the SEC and CFTC on perpetual futures, portfolio margining, and market data reporting. The firm argues that existing rules should be reassessed as blockchain infrastructure evolves.

The company's Perps product, which has been operating since July, uses funding rates and mark-to-market mechanisms to achieve continuous price convergence without fixed expiration dates.

Ondo also believes that current infrastructure can settle exposure more frequently and measure related positions and collateral with greater precision, making traditional margin rules outdated.
