Ontology Mainnet Upgrade Brings Four Ethereum Features

The Ontology mainnet is scheduled for an upgrade to v3.1.2 on August 21, at block height 20,800,000 or around 12:00 a.m. UTC.

This upgrade brings four Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) features from the latest Ethereum environment: PUSH0, BASEFEE, MCOPY, and transient storage.

The added features are designed to improve smart contract efficiency and reduce costs for developers, making it easier to port code written for the latest Ethereum environment to Ontology.

Node operators must update their nodes to v3.1.2 before the network reaches block height 20,800,000 to ensure compatibility with the upgraded chain.
