A last-minute vote from the Optimism Collective's funded team pushed a failing proposal over the line, redirecting nearly 546.9 million OP tokens to a Foundation-run fund.

The vote reclassified tokens once reserved for future user airdrops into a Strategic Ecosystem Fund, which will be controlled by the Optimism Foundation for partnerships, incentives, and enterprise deals.

The proposal's supporters argued that broad token giveaways no longer fit their strategy, citing the high cost of competing in the enterprise market.

However, critics raised concerns about the lack of transparency and oversight surrounding the fund's mandate and potential uses.
