OP Traders Build Long Positions as Token Coils at $0.09
The Optimism (OP) token is currently trading at $0.09, below its 200-day moving average, but top traders are positioning for a potential rebound.
According to an analysis by Peter Zhang, OP's technical indicators are showing signs of exhaustion, with all short-term moving averages collapsing into a single flat line. However, the Bollinger Band setup is indicating that price may be due for a breakout move.
The derivatives market suggests that smart money traders are accumulating OP, with 62.8% of top trader accounts running longs and a taker buy/sell ratio of 3.62. This accumulation is taking place despite spot volume being extremely thin on Binance.
Zhang notes that the 200-day SMA at $0.12 represents a significant wall for OP, and any relief bounce will likely run directly into it. He also warns that the token's macro context remains structurally challenged due to its governance utility and ecosystem incentive mechanics.
