OpenAI Cuts Ties With Cursor Over Elon Musk's Companies

OpenAI has announced plans to end its partnership with Cursor after SpaceX acquired the AI coding startup. The firm will shut down access to its models by November 12, citing concerns that Elon Musk's companies may not use their technology under their terms of service.

In a company release, OpenAI described the decision as 'incredibly tough,' as they care deeply about developers having access to their models. However, they explained that they cannot be confident in SpaceX's commitment to using their technology under their terms.

The move comes just over two weeks after SpaceX completed its acquisition of Cursor AI. Notably, Cursor now works closely with SpaceXAI, the creator of Grok, which directly competes with OpenAI's ChatGPT.
