OpenClaw 2.0 Brings Shared Cloud Sessions and Enhanced Security to Self-Hosted Framework
OpenClaw 2.0 has been released after two months of development, involving over 16,000 pull requests from 933 contributors, including 569 first-timers. The update includes a rebuilt browser app, shared multiplayer cloud sessions, and features aimed at enterprise buyers.
The team's original plan was to focus on simplifying installation and rebuilding the browser app, but scope creep led them to touch memory, models, plugins, messaging, and security instead.
OpenClaw 2.0 now has improved setup, with a guided onboarding process for new users and staged imports for those jumping from other services like Claude or Hermes. The update also includes request-specific approvals, command permissions, and sandboxing features to enhance security.
