OpenPayd Brings Near-Instant Cross-Border Fiat Payments to Businesses via Circle Network
Financial infrastructure provider OpenPayd has gone live on Circle Payments Network (CPN) to offer businesses near-instant cross-border fiat payments through a single API connection. This integration removes the complexity of managing multiple payment technologies, allowing businesses to operate in their conventional fiat currencies with the speed inherent to stablecoin settlement.
According to OpenPayd, corridors such as euro to Brazilian real and British pound to Mexican peso already settle in seconds thanks to Circle's infrastructure. The network uses regulated stablecoins like USDC and EURC as a settlement layer, operating on top of existing banking systems and local payment rails.
Irfan Ganchi, Senior Vice President of Product Management, Payments at Circle, noted that connecting to CPN 'removes the complexity of managing multiple payment technologies' and allows businesses to operate in the fiat currencies they already use. Michael Treacy, Director of Business Development at OpenPayd, emphasized that this integration delivers faster international payments today and builds the foundations for tomorrow's financial services.
