Optimism Forecasts 343 Million OP Increase in Circulating Supply

Optimism's circulating supply is expected to reach 2.504 billion OP by April 2027, according to the project's budget update. This represents an increase of about 343 million OP from the current circulation number.

The forecast accounts for 272.9 million OP, with the ecosystem fund holding the largest share at 200 million OP. Early contributors and investors also have a significant amount of tokens.

The discrepancy between the budget estimates and actual numbers has raised concerns about the accuracy of Optimism's supply figures. The project's publicly available supply tracker shows a difference of around 125.5 million OP compared to the budget update.
