Optimism Redirects 546M OP Tokens to Ecosystem Fund, Boosting Enterprise Adoption

The Optimism collective has made a significant shift in its token distribution strategy by redirecting 546.9 million OP tokens from user airdrops to an ecosystem fund.

This move, which represents 12.7% of the total OP supply, aims to foster growth and adoption beyond the initial airdrop phase through strategic collaborations with key partners.

The proposal passed with 61.84% support, largely due to a last-minute vote from Test in Prod, a core development team, which cast 8.486 million OP in favor.

This decision has raised questions about the community's role in governance and the concentration of voting power within key stakeholders.
