Optimism Shifts Focus with Record-Breaking Airdrop Reserve Reallocations

Optimism's governance has made a significant decision to reallocate 546.9 million OP tokens from user airdrop reserves into a Strategic Ecosystem Fund managed by the Optimism Foundation.

The tokens, valued at roughly $49 million, will be used for strategic partnerships and ecosystem incentives, shifting the focus away from broad user distributions.

This move reflects a changing environment where airdrops have become less efficient as long-term growth tools, and more mature crypto networks are adopting targeted ecosystem strategies.
