Optimism Tokens Flood Markets with Hundreds of Millions Incoming

The Optimism Foundation has released its budget outlook for the period from May 2026 to April 2027, and it's not looking good for holders of OP tokens. According to the foundation's estimates, approximately 343 million new OP tokens will enter circulation during this period.

Of these, 200 million will come from the Ecosystem Fund, while 47.6 million are expected to be unlocked for early seed contributors and 15.3 million for investors.

The total circulating supply of OP is estimated to reach approximately 2.5 billion tokens by April 2027, accounting for around 58.3% of the total OP supply of 4.29 billion.
