Orca Soars 63% as Solana DeFi Volumes Explode
The decentralized exchange (DEX) Orca has seen its price surge by 63.1% in just 24 hours, reaching $1.55 as of April 26, 2026. This significant increase is accompanied by a substantial daily volume of $348.8 million against a market capitalization of only $94.2 million, resulting in an impressive volume-to-market-cap ratio of above 370%. Orca operates on the Solana blockchain and offers Whirlpools, a concentrated liquidity protocol that enables liquidity providers to allocate their capital within specific price ranges.
Orca's primary product is its Whirlpools model, which allows for more efficient use of capital compared to traditional constant-product AMMs. The protocol competes directly with Raydium and Meteora in the Solana DEX market, positioning itself as a user-friendly option through its clean interface design and technical performance.
The recent price spike is not isolated to Orca alone, as Raydium also saw a 24% gain on the same day, posting a volume ratio of 77%. The coincidence suggests that there may be network-wide demand driving the market rather than any token-specific catalyst. Meanwhile, Solana's native asset was relatively flat at $85.89, indicating that the demand is concentrated in DeFi infrastructure tokens rather than the base layer asset.
