Orla Agents Get Wallets, Enabling AI-Powered Payments Without Human Intervention
The budgeting app Orla has introduced agent payments, allowing connected AI agents to hold their own stablecoin wallets and pay for services within set limits. The wallet's deposit is the entire possible loss, serving as a worst-case scenario in dollars. This feature enables AI agents to make payments on behalf of their owners without requiring human intervention.
Orla invoices can now accept payment from other people's agents over x402, the web's payment-required standard. The agent wallet answers its owner's question: what is the most this can cost me? Each agent gets its own address on Base, Ethereum, and Tron, funded with USDC or USDT.
When an AI agent wants to make a payment outside of set limits, it becomes an approval request. The owner reads who receives the payment and how much, then signs or rejects. If approved, the signed payment goes out from the same balance as the deposit.
