OSL Lists XRP for Retail Investors, Expanding Access in Hong Kong
Ripple's XRP has gained significant traction in Hong Kong with its listing on OSL, a licensed platform, allowing retail investors to access XRP for the first time. This milestone marks a major breakthrough in the region and demonstrates the growing demand for regulated cryptocurrency trading.
On July 29, 2026, OSL launched two retail-accessible pairs: Flash Trade XRP/USD and OTC XRP/USD plus XRP/HKD, all settled on the XRP Ledger. This move makes OSL the first Securities and Futures Commission (SFC)-licensed platform in Hong Kong to grant everyday investors direct spot access to XRP.
The listing expands beyond the December 2025 professional-investor (PI) listing, which restricted XRP to institutional and high-net-worth clients. The inclusion of the HKD pair is particularly significant as it provides a fiat on-ramp for Hong Kong residents, giving them a fully licensed path to buy XRP without relying on offshore platforms.
This development reflects a broader regional pattern where Asian venues are quietly expanding compliant access to XRP while US regulators continue drafting legislation. The institutional appetite for XRP is evident in the sustained inflows into XRP spot ETFs, which reached $1.49 billion in cumulative inflows.
