Pakistan Cryptocurrency Providers Face Deadline as New Regulatory Framework Takes Effect
Pakistan has taken a major step in regulating its cryptocurrency sector by launching a virtual asset licensing regime.
The Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) has set a deadline of September 5 for existing virtual asset service providers to apply for a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Under the new regulations, VASPs must submit applications under Section 70 of the Virtual Assets Act, 2026.
The deadline is relatively short, giving market participants only 15 days to enter the new regulatory framework and continue providing virtual asset services legally.
