Pakistan Surpasses 40 Million Crypto Account Holders Amid Regulatory Shift
Pakistan has emerged as one of the world's largest cryptocurrency markets, driven by its young population and growing interest in digital financial technologies.
PVARA Chairman Bilal Bin Saqib told a parliamentary committee that around 40 million Pakistanis hold crypto accounts, with many opened before the country introduced a formal regulatory framework.
The government is now working to bring the digital-asset sector into a structured legal and financial framework, as millions of users have been operating through informal platforms outside direct regulatory oversight.
