Parallel Works and CoreWeave Unite for Customized AI Cloud Environment in DARPA Research

Parallel Works and CoreWeave are partnering to provide a fully managed AI cloud environment for DARPA's biological research programs. The collaboration combines Parallel Works' ACTIVATE platform with CoreWeave's GPU-heavy cloud infrastructure to handle computationally brutal tasks such as genomics sequencing, molecular modeling, and AI workloads.

The partnership is significant because it addresses the specific pain point that defense research labs face: needing supercomputer-class performance with cloud-native flexibility, while satisfying government security requirements. Parallel Works' ACTIVATE platform provides unified access and management across on-premises and cloud resources, including a high-security variant specifically designed for defense applications.

CoreWeave brings the raw computational muscle to the partnership, featuring bare-metal NVIDIA GPUs and Kubernetes-native orchestration. This gives researchers direct access to the hardware that AI training and inference workloads actually need, without the virtualization overhead of general-purpose cloud providers.
