PayPal Bets Big on Stablecoins Amid Reorganization
PayPal's second-quarter results show a 10% year-over-year increase in total payment volume, reaching $486.4 billion.
The company has also confirmed a reorganization that creates a dedicated crypto division within PayPal, which will sit alongside other key units including Checkout Solutions & PayPal and Consumer Financial Services & Venmo.
Under the 'innovating with discipline' heading, PayPal is expanding into three areas: agentic commerce, identity and biometrics, and stablecoins.
The company's crypto holdings cost $81 million in the quarter, but are expected to have a positive impact of about $0.14 per share on full-year 2025 GAAP earnings.
