PayPal Rumors Fizzle as Pi Network Announces Pricing Changes
The Pi Network community was abuzz recently due to unconfirmed rumors that PayPal might add its native token, PI, to its crypto payment ecosystem. However, it appears this speculation turned out to be false according to the latest reports.
Despite the debunked rumor, the official X channel behind the project announced a major change for certain Pioneers that will take effect on August 24. The new approach will reflect more closely the standard prices and AI costs of underlying services, which may vary depending on resources required for each action.
The upcoming model also removes the option to develop apps meant only for experimentation, testing, or spam, but creators whose apps showcase real utility and usage from users will remain eligible for subsidized pricing. Creators who haven't met necessary criteria at first have a chance to update their app and qualify later.
