Payward Taps Hyperliquid for US Crypto Perpetuals Launch
Payward, the parent company of Kraken, is working on launching perpetual futures in the US through its proposed arrangement with Hyperliquid Labs.
The structure would allow registered US users to trade selected crypto perpetual contracts tied to markets on Hyperliquid's decentralized exchange and its Layer 1 blockchain via Payward subsidiary Bitnomial.
Regulatory approval is pending, but a CFTC spokesperson said the agency is committed to fair access and responsible innovation for the next generation of financial markets in the US.
The process may take at least 10-12 months as the SEC and CFTC may need to revise custody and routing rules for Hyperliquid's entry into the US market, according to former SEC senior counsel Ashley Ebersole.
