PBOC Liquidity Boost Fails to Stimulate Bitcoin
The People's Bank of China (PBOC) injected approximately $50 billion into the economy via overnight reverse repos to alleviate mid-month liquidity pressure. The injection, totaling around 350 billion yuan, is part of a larger plan that aims to infuse up to 2.4 trillion yuan by August 19.
Despite this significant boost in liquidity, Bitcoin's price remained relatively stable at $62,800, showing no immediate response to the PBOC's actions.
Analysts suggest that the move is primarily aimed at managing liquidity around tax payments rather than implementing aggressive monetary easing. Additionally, China's capital controls are said to limit the direct impact on Bitcoin.
