Peirce Optimistic About Chances of Clarity Bill Passing Amid Regulatory Shift
US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Hester Peirce expressed optimism about the chances of the Clarity bill passing. The bill aims to create a regulatory framework for the broader US crypto market, which has been delayed due to concerns raised by banking lobby groups.
Pierce said that passage of the bill would clarify the division of authority among regulators over the crypto spot market, providing clearer standards for the industry, investors, and authorities. She added that even if the bill does not pass, a framework can be established for those pursuing fundraising using cryptocurrencies.
Peirce has been seen as relatively friendly to the crypto industry, with some referring to her as 'crypto mom.' Her remarks align with a shift in the US approach to crypto regulation, which has become more favorable towards the digital asset industry since Donald Trump took office in 2025.
