Pentagon's Nuclear Strategy Shifts to Tactical Weapons, Mints New BTC Premium
The U.S. Pentagon is revising its nuclear strategy in preparation for potential conflicts with China or Russia, shifting focus to shorter-range tactical nuclear weapons. According to an NBC News report, Defense Department policy chief Elbridge Colby is drafting a classified framework that leans on these types of weapons to prevent a conventional conflict from escalating into a full nuclear exchange.
The goal is dual: to stop either China or Russia from exploiting a moment when Washington is focused on the other. This convergence of hard-power nuclear planning and digital-asset military integration is creating a new national-security premium around Bitcoin, with the Pentagon testing it as a live operational tool.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has confirmed that classified Bitcoin programs provide 'a lot of leverage in a lot of different scenarios,' positioning the asset against China's digital authoritarianism. The U.S. government currently holds an estimated 198,000+ BTC, making it the largest known state holder.
