Phantom Brings Memecoin Trading to Mainstream with Robinhood Chain Integration
Phantom Wallet has integrated Robinhood Chain into its interface, allowing users to access a wide range of financial applications and assets with just one tap. The integration was announced quietly by Phantom, but it's actually a significant development in the world of DeFi.
Rohan Maheshwari, an expert in the field, noted that Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum layer 2 built on Arbitrum's stack, pitched around tokenized real-world assets like stock tokens and ETFs, alongside DeFi, perpetual futures, and AI-agent applications. The platform has seen significant growth, with weekly DEX volume reaching $3.1 billion, according to a Bernstein report.
The integration is particularly notable because it means Phantom users can now access memecoin trading, which accounts for the majority of Robinhood Chain's activity. This is significant because Phantom was built on Solana, where memecoin activity has driven growth. By bringing this same low-friction experience to Robinhood Chain, Phantom users can now jump into the chain's dominant activity using an interface they're already familiar with.
While tokenized stock trading is also available on the platform, it currently accounts for a much smaller share of the market. However, with Total Value Locked (TVL) crossing $600 million, according to Artemis data, it's clear that there's real capital behind this ecosystem.
