Phantom Ditches Monad Support Amidst Robinhood Chain Integration
Phantom Wallet will stop supporting the Monad network on August 26, approximately nine months after Monad's mainnet launch in November 2025. This decision comes just a day after Phantom announced that Robinhood Chain is now live in its app, which adds the Arbitrum Orbit-based network for tokenized equities and real-world assets.
Monad co-founder Keone Hon called this move 'a step backward' and noted that Phantom doesn't allow users to add networks themselves. In contrast, MetaMask has been actively building on Monad since June and offered to cover migrating users' gas fees. Users can import their recovery phrase into another wallet that supports the chain.
Hon pointed out that Monad is trying to 'connect Monad (and crypto more generally) to all parts of the financial economy,' and he recommended using MetaMask, Backpack, Rabby, Rainbow, Infinex, or Ambire. Monad's market capitalization stands at $242 million against a fully diluted valuation of $2.06 billion.
