Philippine Crypto Search Interest Plummets as Market Matures

The Philippine crypto market has seen a significant decline in search interest, with Google Trends data showing relative interest for 'crypto' and 'bitcoin' falling into low single and double digits. According to local industry leaders, this drop in search activity reflects a changed market where crypto has become invisible.

Crypto educator and trader Arlone Abello, also known as Coach Miranda Miner, notes that the shift is due to increased accessibility through apps and financial platforms, making it no longer necessary for users to search for basic onboarding guides. 'Crypto is no longer as unfamiliar to Filipinos as it was five years ago,' he said.

The Head of GCrypto at GCash, Alden Paul Yburan, agrees that the market has moved away from user experience (UX) abstraction, where protocols prioritize ease of use over awareness of crypto rails. He points out that search trends only track public attention and not actual usage, citing data from Triple-A showing Philippine crypto adoption at 13 percent.
