Philippines Takes Center Stage at Philippine Blockchain Week 2026
The Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) 2026 took place at the SMX Convention Center Manila, bringing together over 12,000 local and international delegates. The event marked a turning point in the country's digital transformation, moving from explaining what blockchain and AI can do to demonstrating their practical applications across government, finance, business, and everyday life.
The conference theme 'Decoded: Deployed' reflected where the industry stands today, with emerging technologies no longer just future concepts but solutions addressing real-world challenges. Speakers from around the world shared insights on blockchain, AI, cybersecurity, governance, and entrepreneurship, with more than half representing international markets.
Visionary Chezka Gonzales, co-founder of PBW, emphasized that her goal is to put Filipinos on the global blockchain map and showcase Filipino talent, innovation, and resilience. The event facilitated partnerships between startups, enterprises, regulators, and innovators, creating opportunities for Filipinos in the digital economy.
The conference also highlighted the convergence of technology, culture, and community. Speakers like Michael Terpin, known as the 'Godfather of Crypto', noted that the Philippines has been a leader in innovation, with social media playing a significant role in incubating new platforms.
