Pi Network Price Jumps as Protocol 26 Update Looms
Pi Network has started rolling out Protocol 26, which requires all Mainnet node operators to upgrade their software before August 11. The update is mandatory for node operators and prepares the network for Protocol 27, the last planned upgrade in Pi Network's current roadmap.
The Pi Coin price surged 4.11% in the past 24 hours to $0.0825, outperforming the broader crypto market even as Bitcoin traded slightly lower.
The move appears to be driven by organic buying and accumulation, rather than a specific catalyst. The Pi Core Team said that Protocol 26 is the ninth Mainnet protocol upgrade, which brings the network up to date with the latest protocol features, performance improvements, and functionality.
