Pi Network Price Surges Ahead of Protocol 26 Upgrade
Pi Network's price has surged by 4.71% on July 30 to $0.082, outperforming Bitcoin which is down by 0.74%. This gain comes ahead of the seventh protocol upgrade, dubbed Protocol 26, scheduled for August 11.
The core team has announced that mainnet node operators have until August 11 to upgrade to Protocol 26. The increased trading volumes, up 17% according to CoinMarketCap data, suggest a surge in buying pressure.
Protocol 26 is the second-to-last upgrade on Pi Network, which will bring the network up to date with the latest protocol features and functionality. However, these upgrades have drawn criticism from some users who feel they are receiving more attention than the price of Pi Network itself, which has dropped by 97% since its February 2025 high of $2.98.
The rising parallel channel on the chart suggests a bullish momentum, with the RSI reading of 62 supporting a long-term Pi Network price forecast. If the buying pressure continues, Pi Network's price could reach the psychological resistance of $0.10.
