Pi Network's Decentralized Exchange Launch Set for September 15
Pi Network has completed its Protocol 26 mainnet upgrade on August 11, which aimed to harden smart contract security, state management, and cryptographic capabilities across 421,000 active nodes.
The next upgrade, Protocol 27, targets September 15 for mainnet deployment and will introduce automated market maker liquidity pools, smart contract authentication, and RPC server infrastructure. This DEX will test whether Pi Network's 30 million users can generate real economic activity or if they only exist on paper.
Pi Network has been shipping code at a rapid pace since open mainnet launched in February 2025, with nine mandatory protocol upgrades completed so far. The team claims that this efficient upgrade process is a prerequisite for integration work by larger players such as exchange listing teams and institutional partners.
