Pi Network's Human Workforce Earns Less Than Four Cents per Task

Share

Pi Network, a blockchain project, has paid out rewards to over one million people who completed identity verification tasks as part of its human workforce. The task count was an astonishing 526,970,631, with each validation earning a validator around four tenths of one cent at current prices.

The payment formula published by Pi itself shows that the entire distribution is worth approximately $2 million, with validators averaging around 481 tasks and receiving about $1.87 per task at current prices.

Pi's verification system is designed for privacy preservation, splitting each application into discrete tasks to prevent any single validator from seeing a complete picture of an applicant's personal data. This design choice increases the task count, but Pi argues it's worth it for better security and validation.
