Pi Network's v27 Update: Will it Finally Boost PI Price?
The Pi Network, a contentious cryptocurrency project, has been making headlines lately with its string of updates. However, despite these developments, the price of its native token, PI, has yet to see significant gains.
The project's Core Team began rolling out protocol updates in January 2026, starting with version 19.6 and followed by several others, including v20.2, which laid the groundwork for smart contract capabilities. Versions 25 and 26 were introduced during the summer, surpassing their initial deadlines.
All eyes are now on v27, which is set to be deployed later today (September 15) and will add more flexible and secure smart-contract authentication, enabling accounts and apps to authorize transactions better. This update has sparked enthusiasm among Pioneers and community members, with some likening the date to one that 'Pi watchers will remember.'
However, a delay in the v27 deployment is also possible, given the project's history of postponing important upgrades. The Pi Network community is also keeping an eye on September 24 and October 7-8, as speculation suggests that an announcement or update may be made during this period.
