Pineapple Financial Tokenizes Over $1 Billion in Mortgage Records on Injective
Pineapple Financial has successfully tokenized over $1 billion in mortgage records on the Injective blockchain, marking a significant milestone for the network. This move positions Injective as one of the largest layer-1 chains by total value of tokenized real-world assets.
The migration uses Injective Mint, which is currently in private alpha, and involves migrating funded residential mortgage records onto the network. Each loan is represented by a metadata-rich onchain record tied to its underlying loan file, rather than being repackaged as a new mortgage-backed security.
Pineapple's goal is to migrate its entire historical portfolio of over 29,000 funded mortgages worth more than $10 billion onto Injective over time. The company has already seen significant progress, with 2,079 mortgage records onchain as of September 4, 2026, up from 1,259 at launch.
The tokenization of mortgage records is expected to bring improved auditability and DeFi interoperability, as well as automated verification and real-time audit trails. This move echoes other efforts to put real-world assets onchain, including Figure's push to bring billions in loans onchain.
