Pirro's 'Strike Force' launched last November aims to target transnational criminal organizations, particularly those from China and Southeast Asia that use cryptocurrency fraud to target Americans.
The scammers often use social media platforms like Instagram, Tinder, or text messages that appear to be sent to the wrong person, luring victims with false promises of investments or romance.
Pirro emphasized the difficulty in recovering stolen cryptocurrency, stating that some funds 'go through a blockchain into a black hole where we never get those funds.'
